Valeriia Milenina
photographer
Valeriia Milenina is a talented contemporary photographer from Russia. Her first exhibition "Being a Mom" was held in Moscow in 2021, and since then she has begun to actively build an international artistic career. Her works have been exhibited in the United Kingdom, India, Russia, and CIS countries. She actively participates in competitions, exhibitions, and creative collaborations around the world.
Milenina's works are created in the genre of contemporary conceptual impressionistic photography. Her works can be described as fragile, fleeting, dynamic, focused on the body, signs, and objects from everyday life. The photographer consciously uses an ascetic colour palette to capture the conventionality and playful nature of the surrounding world. Milenina's photographic characters seem to exist simultaneously as characters in the intimate avant-garde European cinema of the first half of the 20th century and as objects of a cold, thoughtful scientific experiment, arranged in the space of the camera lens, much like bacteria and other microorganisms are arranged by researchers on the bottom of a Petri dish.
Through her art, Valeriia Milenina invites us to travel through the endless possibilities of the human eye to sense subtle patterns and find aesthetic treasures, despite the horrors and dangers of the total 21st century.
